Tunnels

Waterproofing for tunnels involves using pre-formed synthetic sheet membranes with geotextile felt over shotcrete lining, or spray-applied systems for specific applications.

Waterproofing is carried out for tunnels over the primary shotcrete lining using most commonly pre-formed loosely laid synthetic sheet membranes combined with a protective geotextile felt to channelize and drain any water percolating from the strata through the primary lining into the side drain.

In certain specific applications spray applied systems can also be considered for use in tunnels.
